Day #19, Rock Island

Edgar and I had planned on driving to Missouri and paddling the St. Francis today, but after driving a few hours and some talking our plans changed. Edgar had never been to Rock Island (famous Jackson Kayak playhole/training spot) and wanted to check it out. I had not been there in a while and agreed it would be a great idea to stop and get some playboating in.

We set up camp and then watched the new LVM on my laptop. The LVM was really cool (SE edition of the Regional Series). Neat footage of Raven and Road Prong among other things.

The next morning we got up early and did a little PT (physical training) and headed to the river. The normal road was blocked, so we had to go around to Power House Road. We sessioned at the hole for a bit and got some video. We felt rushed to get on the road and try to make it to the Teva Mountain Games (Thursday), so we finished up and headed out.

We are on the road and not sure if we want to push through to Denver or stop off at the St. Francis. It is going to be a last minute decision I think. :) We'll see. Stay tuned...............
