Today I ventured off to the mighty Upper Hooch. Again, we had Laura to help us run shuttle, which made life a lot easier. We arrived at the put in after barely escaping the onslaught of Atlanta rush hour traffic. I got out.........got the boat off the car................got geared up and then I realized I never got my paddle into the car. Ugh! So.......with no paddle, no hand paddles I had no choice, but to do it with just my hands. We were already up there, so really what was I supposed to do? Not paddle?
It took me a bit longer to finish the river, but all in all we had a great time. I hadn't paddled the Upper Hooch in a long time and I forgot how beautiful and scenic this stretch of river can be during the Spring. It honestly was one of the best times I have had on a river.........very peaceful.
